SCHEDULE: September 23 - 27. Come for as many or as few days as you like!
Thursday, September 23: WEAVERVILLE - Learn about gold mining and the Asian immigration and settlement. Visit the oldest continuously used Chinese temple in California and get a live demonstration of the town's stamp mill and tin shop.
Friday, September 24: LASSEN VOLCANIC NATIONAL PARK - Tour this compact laboratory of volcanic phenomena and associated thermal features. Learn about tertiary volcanism and the Achumawi, Atsugewi, Maidu, and Yana peoples who converged here in the summer for hunting and gathering.
Saturday, September 25: LASSEN VOLCANIC NATIONAL PARK - Hike to the rim of the volcano with Bill Hartman '62 or learn more about native peoples with Tad.
Sunday, September 26: SHASTA - Learn about the geologic and cultural history of Mt. Shasta and get a photography lesson in the field.
Monday, September 27: LAVA BEDS NATIONAL PARK - Explore cave-like lava tubes and learn about the Modocs, the Modoc War, and how Lava Beds relates to the volcanic history of the area.

*Young alumni discount! $50 per person for graduates of the last decade (1994-2004)
