Your portfolio should include roughly five or six images accompanied by a text which introduces yourself and discusses your artistic goals.
Images should be printed on 8X10 matte or pearl RC paper. (I will supply suitable paper in the darkroom during this period.) You may, however, construct image-clusters by using 5X7 or smaller papers grouped closely together if this better serves your artistic composition. (Ask me about this.)
Selection of images is crucial. You should select from your technically best work, and you should select images that have some interesting relationships with each other. What you are "showing" is something about your artistic or creative interests in photography. What interests you? What do your images attempt to express? How does seeing this particular selection of images inform us about all of this?
In your text, you should explain your artistic interests while "placing" them in a biographical sketch. You should append to this a brief image-by-image discussion/description. The whole should not exceed two pages.
We will discuss your selections and your 8X10 prints when we meet on April 25th. At that time, we will also discuss how these will be presented during Presentations Period, on May 5th. There will be approximately one week to prepare the show.
