Gallery Two: The Eastern Sierra

I spend a great deal of time in the Eastern Sierra, much of it in and around the town of Mammoth Lakes. The Eastern Sierra is very different from the Western Sierra because the mountains rise to 14,000 feet plus directly from valley floors of 4,000 to 8,000 feet. Also, the Eastern Sierra is really part of the Great Basin and, as such, it is very dry.

Some of these images were created with my Nikon N80 in 35 mm color transparency film (Fugichrome Velvia (iso 50) and Kodak E100VS (iso 100)). Others were created with a Nikon digital camera, "coolpix" E995, using the HI resolution 3.1 megapixel setting, saved as TIF files on Compact Flash I memory cards.
