Read Roger Hickman, Reel Music (your textbook), 1st ed. chapters 15-17 or 2nd ed. chapters 13-15.
Review the Music Fundamentals web pages.
Log onto the Music Fundamentals Quizzes using the same username and password as last week. If you completed the quizzes from last week, you should see Lesson #3 available to you. It consists of two short quizzes, which you need to complete by the above due date. This link is also on the Sakai Resources page. You can take each quiz as many times as you like, and only the last grade will be recorded.
In preparation for next week's bibliography, you will need to start your paper research if you haven't already. We need to allow extra time this semester for you to receive materials from the Claremont Colleges Library by mail, though some materials are available electronically. As you look for appropriate sources, keep in mind that sometimes books or articles not specifically about this film score can be useful -- for example, sources about the director or the genre. In addition to the Claremont Colleges Library Music Research Guide, Google Books is a good place to search for references.
